About the conference
We are entering a new era of space exploration. With missions like Artemis preparing to send humans back to the Moon, and ambitious plans to eventually reach Mars, what once felt like science fiction is becoming reality. In this engaging afterwork talk, astronomer Eleni Chatzichristou explores why we are returning to the Moon after more than 50 years, what it's actually like to live beyond Earth and whether going to Mars is a realistic goal or a distant dream. The evening is designed as a relaxed afterwork experience - so expect not just a talk, but also a fun quiz, discussion and a chance to share your thoughts while enjoying a drink in good company.

How do I sign up? Click on the orange ‘Sign up’ button at the top right of this page. Registration is free. If you see any paid items appear during registration, please go to your shopping basket to remove them before continuing. You can also call us on 02 318 00 47 to register over the phone.

Can I eat or drink on site? Yes! A "squadron" bar will be available, with standard prices (e.g. €3 for a soft drink, €10 for a cocktail). Tapas will be available for those feeling peckish.
How much does it cost? We are trialling a free entry scheme. We will assess in a few weeks’ time whether this covers our costs, so please feel free to eat, drink and bring friends!
Could I have a go on the flight simulator? Yes, please do book in advance to make sure there is a slot available. The 15-minute session costs €50, and everyone who flies will be offered a beer or a soft drink.
Can I be a speaker at the Flylounge? To be a speaker, you just need to be an expert on the topic and be able to present it in English for 15–20 minutes. Let’s discuss it during an event.
