Michèle Quintin, a specialist in stress—particularly that associated with flying—will give us a brief overview of the various causes of aviation-related stress (loss of control, traumatic experiences, agoraphobia, conditioning and cognitive bias, neurobiology, etc.) and an outline of the different solutions available depending on the individual: lectures on the subject (at the Flylounge!), small-group training modules (breathing and mental relaxation exercises, mindfulness, yoga, cardiac coherence, etc.) or individual sessions, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), brief or behavioural therapy, and of course Relaxothérapie®.

About the speaker
Michèle Quintin holds a degree in Psychology and Educational Sciences (UBL). In 1985, she founded a psychotherapy centre specialising in chronic and traumatic stress. She seeks, amongst the many physical and mental techniques available, effective tools to alleviate various forms of tension (neurocognitive therapy, brief/strategic/solution-focused therapy, hypnosis, brief systemic therapy, EMDR, mindfulness and cardiac coherence). This led her to develop her own body-based technique: Relaxotherapy®. She is particularly committed to working on the prevention of anxiety and aggression inherent in our modern lifestyles. She works as a psychotherapist, trainer and facilitator of workshops, conferences and seminars on health psychology and stress management. She teaches at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Liège. She follows the Hatha Yoga teachings of Master B.K.S. Iyengar and trained in Belgium and France (at a training centre for yoga and energetic body arts). She is a Contact and Integrity Representative for the Belgian Buddhist Union and the Tibetan Institute of Huy.
